Larry Shea: Video / Interaction Design
A Max/MSP controlled installation that captured and mixed current gallery goers images with those recorded in a 1993 version of the installation as well as pre-recorded imagery of often naked bodies struggling withing the architecture of the museum, creating a series of misperceptions that undermined the overt tone of calm cool control. A voice activated microphone allowed viewers to add their comments to Scher’s seductive authoritarian monologue. Serially controlled dvd players and live cameras were routed through a matrix switcher and downstream keying system. Custom built laser triggers enabled the system to route images of viewers to nearby monitors and trigger sounds.
